Abdominoplasty for men

Sagging of the skin in the abdominal region in men can be corrected with abdominoplasty, also called abdominal dermolipectomy. This procedure is intended to remove excess skin and fatty tissue and, if necessary, restore firmness in weakened or separated abdominal muscles. This operation consists of removing the excess skin after making an incision depending on the abdominoplasty technique chosen. The operation takes one to three hours, depending on the amount of excess skin and any additional procedures carried out at the same time.

After abdominoplasty, patients are generally advised to stay at home for about one week for optimal recovery. You will be able to resume your usual low-level activities within three to four days after the surgery, but you should avoid standing fully upright during the first one to two weeks. Vigorous physical activity is strongly discouraged during the first two to four weeks after the operation as well as any kind of heavy lifting. The final result will be seen after eight to twelve weeks, once the skin has tightened.
